Tips for Your Summer Vacation

Even though we are into July, there is still plenty of time for a summer vacation! We know that packing and planning can be a chore, but we have some tips to start your vacation off on the right foot.

Check TSA & Airline Regulations:

It’s always important to check your airline and TSA regulations before your arrival!. Each airline is different; some allow you to bring a suitcase that weighs 40 pounds, some 50. Some airlines allow one checked bag for no extra charge while some allow two bags. And during peak summer traveling months, you might be required to arrive at the airport two hours early for domestic flights. On our website, there are links directly to each of our airlines so you can see exactly what each one allows.

Pack Wisely:

Packing doesn’t need to be stressful! If you know how to pack efficiently, you’re well on your way to an amazing vacation. Always check the weather forecast at your destination before you begin packing. {Make sure you have a weather app on your phone too}. Be sure to pack items that you can get a lot of use out of, solid colors and appropriate shoes.

Fit more in your suitcase by rolling your clothing instead of folding it. And your clothes will end up less wrinkled upon arrival! Pack your shoes in plastic bags so they don’t get your clothes dirty.

Keep Calm & Carry On:

First of all, make sure your have the right size carry on – some airlines are very strict and you don’t want to end up checking your bag last minute with all your necessities in it. The must-haves: your passport (for international travel) or ID, currency, any medications (even ones you may take only at night, a good book and/or headphones, a small bag of toiletries (like toothpaste and moisturizer) and change of clothes, hand sanitizer, some healthy snacks, and a bottle of water you purchase after going through security. Always, remember the 3-1-1 Rule.

Stay Hydrated:

Airplanes are drying and dehydrating! It’s not only important to plan to stay hydrated during your flight, but important to stay super hydrated leading up to your flight. Skip salty meals the day of your flight (whether long haul or just a short flight) and opt for water-rich and hydrating foods instead. Moisturize the outside of your body before takeoff too! Your skin will thank you later.

Br prepared and your vacation will be a much more enjoyable experience.
